Islamic Marriage: In
Islamic law (sharia), marriage
(zawaj, Shadi) is
a legal bond and social contract between a mature and
adult man and a woman. Islam considers marriage
as a solemn family relationship between a man and a
woman, based on mercy and love and will for children.
Marriage Engagement: Now a days
marriage engagement has become custom
and a lot of money is spent on marriage engagement but
in the view of Islam a verbal proposal answer
is sufficient.
Muslim Haq Mahr : Haq
Mahr is often translated as “dowry”
but is better expressed as “bridal gifts.”
Haq Mahr is the gift that is given by the man
i.e. husband to his wife at Marriage
Ceremony.
Muslim Nikah: Nikah
or nikkah is the most important part
of Muslim Marriage as without Nikah, marriage is not
completed. Nikah is a contract (either
written or not) between a bride and bridegroom in the
presence of two witnesses. After Nikah
a man and a woman become husband and wife
and can live together and carry on their marital duties.

Marriage
Khutbah: Marriage Khutbah
is Sunnah of Hazrat
Muhammad PBUH, it is not essential as marriage
is legal without it but it is an important
part of Islamic Marriage
as during Khutbah Aayat of Holy Quran
are recited and it is better for the
coming life of Bride and Groom.
Valima (Walima, Marriage
Dinner): The public celebration of
a marriage starts with Valima
i.e. a dinner offered by Groom and his
family to his friends, relatives, neighbors
and family members. However, lavish spending
is not advisable especially when the groom
cannot afford it. |
Rukhsati:
In Islamic Sharia it is advised that
the "Rukhsati" should take
place at night. The hadith says, "Take the
bride to her new home during the night."
First Marriage Night
in Islam: Is it necessary
to have intercourse on first
night of marriage or can it be delayed
to the next or some other night? As far as
the Sharia is concerned, it is neither obligatory
nor forbidden to have intercourse on the first
marriage night. It is a private decision
between the bride and groom and others should not
force them to do against their will.
Married Life: Muslim bride and groom
should spend their married life according to the golden
principles of Islam and Hadith. They should take care
of each other and live their life happily.
